“Smith's "The Plan of Chicago" sheds a lot of light on Daniel Burnham's 1909 city plan for Chicago. Very well written and interesting (primarily for those who enjoy Chicago history). This book is being used for the Chicago Public Library's "One Book, One Chicago" reading program for Fall 2009. It will be interesting to see how CPL tackles discussing this work and the events they host to support this program.”
