“Mieville writes weird and fascinating stories. This was one of the best--imagine two cities co-existing in the same space. From childhood, citizens of each are taught to ignore the other--to the point where noticing is a crime. It's a hard imagine but Mieville pulls it off. Fascinating. Also a good detective story.”
