Even for those who love to hate alpha heroes out of control, Captive Bride would be hard to take. Relying on some supposed women’s fantasies, the first half of the book is dedicated to kidnapping and forced bedding of the heroine by the hero. I guiltily admit that I enjoyed some portions of the first half of the book but - oh, the reader must pay even a bigger price than tolerance of forced sex. This is, after all, a 1977 publication and the “I hate you but can’t resist you sexually”...
