A young, recent widow finds 2 men in her life that are etrying to help her and her 2 young children get through this terrible time. One is her neighborhood priest and the other is a guy her husband hired to build a new porch for her as a surprise. Janie is very angry with everyone, and she keeps pushing people away, even her family. But these 2 men don't give up on her. Janie is a real sympathetic character and her son is a joy. I wasn't happy with the relationship between Janie and her mother, but I can see why it's a tentative one.”
