After coming out of mourning for her beloved mother's death, Kimberly Richards finds herself bereft of a fiancé and facing her father's ire. Eager to be rid of her so he can finally remarry, her father commands her to find a husband soon and sends her to Sherring Cross, the home of the duke and duchess of Wrothston (Devlin and Megan from Man of My Dreams) hoping that they would be able to help her.

As it happens, a lot of guests were staying at Sherring Cross and one of them happens to be Lachlan MacGregor, the recently impoverished Scottish laird also on the lookout for a spouse. Now Kimberley is impressed by Lachlan's good looks but is appalled by his rough and brutish behavior. Add the fact that he is so intent on winning the duchess' heart. But when Kimberley was bold enough to tell him off, he finds himself intrigued by her and actually becoming less interested in the duchess. Soon he goes to seduce her, much to Kimberley's dismay. But her resistance doesn't last long and she soon finds herself longing for his kiss and meeting him secretly. But when they were discovered, she is compromised and had no choice but to marry the Scot.

If you have read Man of My Dreams, then you're already familiar with some of the characters and will remember Lachlan as probably the only kidnapper that you'll have a good laugh with. In this story, he remains true to his old character and you'll find him charming and witty. One of the delightful aspects of this story is how ill matched he and Kimberley seemed. I liked the fact that she isn't so beautiful like Megan is, that you actually empathize with her; which also brings me back to Megan and Devlin's role in this novel. On Man of My Dreams, I found Megan's constant complaint about her beauty tedious, but her reference to Kimberley's plainness and how she's practically unnoticeable made me want to smack her. But my own complaints aside, this was an enjoyable book to read with a rather delightful ending though I personally think that this isn't one of Johanna Lindsey's best.

Good novel. Lachlan is an interesting character. He is tubborn , but can be very reasonable and understanding. He also knows what's expected of him. A good story.

When Kimberly and Lachlan first meet, it does not go well. They really don't like each other. However, that dislike soon turns into passion and they are caught in a compromising situation. Forced to marry, Lachlan couldn't be happier because his family is poor and needs a large dowry. But when Kimberly's father learns she's marrying a Scot, will a dowry be forthcoming?

This book strolled along, never exciting or thrilling, but never quite reaching the boring point.

This book was a controversy between me and a group of friends. for those fans who loved Devlin in Man of My Dreams, I found I had a soft spot for Lachland. So I must say I really liked this book, but unfortunately when I first heard of this book, I listened to it as a audio book. Let me just say, I learned the hard way that some books are just not meant to be heard, but read so the reader can use their own imagination. Let me just say, I have visited this book lots of times since and Lachlan is still a favorite compared to Delvin...

    Just my humble opinion.

Love me Forever introduces another character Lachlan MacGregor from another Johanna Lindsey Novel to Lady Kimberly.
The attraction and conflict between these two star crossed lovers is hysterical. You won't find a dull moment in the reading of this romance novel. Heaven help a reformed Scots who falls in love with an independent British Lady of great wealth.
