• Hanna Marin: The "It Girl" at Rosewood Day High School, and she'd like to keep it that way; friends with Aria, Emily, and Spencer. Was friends with Alison. Used to be fat, but now is the one of the thinnest girls in school.
• Aria Montgomery: Friends with Hannah, Emily, Spencer, and was friends with Alison. She starts to date Jason DiLaurentis.
• Emily Fields: Friends with Hannah, Aria, Spencer was friends with Alison. She got the nick-name "Killer" because she was so protective of Alison.
• Spencer Hastings: Smart overachiever who attends Rosewood Day, and is friends with Hanna, Aria, Emily. She registers in an adoption finder program, and goes to meet her sorta real mom.
• Alison DiLaurentis: The girls' manipulating best friend who was found murdered in her own backyard. Aria pulled someone out of the fire, and it looked just like Ali.
