The premise of the book was good, but that’s the only thing I found interesting. I’ve read the other reviews & wonder if we read the same book. I honestly thought this was an awful book. First of all the author is so predictable. It was very easy for me to figure out who the younger of the men would turn out to be. She never gave the last name of the younger man mentioned. I understand why, because she would have to have made a connection sooner. I don’t know about anyone else but when I hear a familiar name I think of people with that same name. Her cousin goes from being outgoing while she is overweight to being very passive after the weight is gone. That is so the opposite of what really happens. I myself was extremely overweight at one time and so were a lot my friends and associates. In each instance we all gained more self-confidence. For a woman that overcame so much in her own opinion she was not very smart. Her niece and nephew had a better clutch on reality than she did. I’ve never started a book and not finished it before but this one really put me to the test. I thought maybe this would be one of those where the end justifies the means, so not so. The ending was the most disappointing part of this book. It has no ending the author just stops writing. I know this type of ending has worked for other authors (Margaret Mitchell “Gone with the Wind”) but she does not have the skill to pull it off. It leaves one wondering if there will be a sequel, but goodness I hope not. The only way a sequel can improve this book is to borrow a page from that old TV show “Dallas,” it was all just a bad dream. Then write the story about her cousin but with the same sprit she had at the beginning of the book.”

What happens to Jason does he live; do they have a future together? I was shocked when Matthew was her Andrew's son. It took me about 4 days to get to that part, and after that I couldn't put the book down. Can't wait for the second one. ”

Olena Day has paid her dues and worked hard. As a result, she's a successful businesswoman. However, her personal life has suffered. At 43, she's single, without children, doesn't have any friends, nor has she accomplished her dream of writing a novel. Determined to write a novel, she takes a year off. It's during that time that she meets possible suitors Jason and Matthew. Each man has his own pros and cons (age being a big CON) and Olena is attracted to both for different reasons. Can she handle being in love with a younger man?
I was skeptical at first as this novel started off extremely slow and didn't really have my complete interest. Olena was extremely uptight, which made it hard to attach to the story. But as I continued reading, it became better...much better, especially after Matthew and Jason appeared on the scene. At this point I was totally intrigued. I absolutely hated the way "In Love With a Younger Man" ended, though. I couldn't believe that Cheryl Robinson left the novel the way she did. I'm very excited to read the continued novel to see the outcome.

“I really enjoyed this first installment of Olena Day. I felt like the book was well paced and kept me wanting to read to find out what was going to happen next. Ms. Robinson outdid herself with this book and I cannot wait to read the continuation!”

I thought this book ended horribly ( obvouosly leading us on to think there will be a sequel). She is in love with two younger men that know about each other she is sleeping with one and is celibate with the other one until she finds out her has cancer. This book juimped all over the place. the beginning was ok when she talke dabout her life growin up. then it just got to be unrealistic and boring. The ending was HORRIBLE. She did not live up to the fantastic writing she did with Sweet Georhia Brown at all. That book made me decide to purchase another one of her books. I had been waiting patiently for this book to come ount only for it to be a great disappointment and a wast of my $12. Go to the library if u really want to read this book. Not worth the money at all.”

I laugh out loud, cried when Olena cried, happy when she was happy. The ending was not what I expected, but all in all the story line will draw you into the character's lives. This is a wonderful read.
Enjoy.

“Wow! This was my second read by Cheryl Robinson and she blew me away with this one! It seemed more like a true story than one made up. While reading this novel I went through all the different emotions with the main character, Olena Day. Anger, disappoinment, love, hate, lust, greed, happiness, jealousy...this book definitely puts you on an emotional rollercoaster ride! I just read the last page and I said to myself where's the next five chapters, this can't be the end?!
Olena Day grew up feeling somewhat insecure about herself and her looks. She was never anyone's main girl, but instead the one they creeped with and cheated on their wives with. Some may even have called her a sideline ...
The story takes off when she's at the top of her career, forty three years old, single, no kids and no man. Olena seems to have it all if you think money equals happiness.
Later in the story she meets two men who both satisfy her in so many ways, but both of them are completely different. She feels as though she can't make up her mind on who she really wants, so she dates them both. Jason Nix is an ex pro football player and is filthy rich. Its nothing for him to drop a couple of hundreds on dinner or take a last minute trip to another part of the world. Matthew Harper works at a Mercedes dealer in the finance department. He takes his job very serious and his bedroom skills even more serious! (Whew..fanning myself) Both men are younger than Olena. Both of them are sinfully satisfying in their own sweet ways! I won't tell too much of the novel spilling the beans of which man does what to piss her off at times and making her love the other one even more..vice versa. For once the woman gets to be the playa. (High fiving the author!)
Pick this novel up as soon as possible. Its one of those books that grab you from the first chapter and hold your attention with every page you turn and every word you read. This book was soooo good and real. I was so caught up in this book that I made sure I never left it at home. I know there is a sequel coming! There has to be!
