“Three brothers born as Seminius demons but human in appearance, they are a breed bound by desire (incubus) and only male. At the age of hundred they gain the ability to shape shift and impregnate females, but sometimes it happens that some of them loses any sense of compassion and turn rogue....”see full review » see other reviews »
“I really enjoyed Wraith's story. The tortured vampire/incubus who comes to find his humanity in the unlikeliest of places. Serena, the charmed treasure hunter who is dying, and fighter would do anything for a score, but when she falls for the tortured WSraith her whole like changes in an instant. ”KRISTY20 wrote this review Wednesday, August 14, 2013. “Seminus demon Wraith has been poisoned and only has weeks to live. His only cure is to take the charm of a Marked Sentinel. The only uncloaked Marked Sentinel known to the brothers is Serena Kelley, an archaeologist searching for lost treasures. Wraith figures this will be easy. He can use his powers as an incubus to seduce Serena, taking her virginity and gaining the charm. But Serena will die if she loses the charm. Suddenly Wraith's plan is in jeopardy when he actually falls for Serena and questions whether he can go through with his seduction.
This is a great addition to the Demonica series. I've been waiting for Wraith's story and it doesn't disappoint. Not only to we get a good plot, lots of action and a well written romance, but we also get more of Kynan and Gem's story. All of the characters from the past books make an appearance. We also are introduced to a new character who looks like he will play a major part of the series. My rating: 5 Stars.”
“Another great Demonica book. I like each book more than the last in this series. I loved Wraith and Serena. I have been waiting for Wraith's book since I met his character. I am interested to learn more about Lore and I love all the different couples they have going now. I can't wait to see what happens next with them all. I also loved how the back story with how the brothers met was included at the end of this book. ”Tracyseb wrote this review Tuesday, February 19, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? “Imaginative world building, fast paced action and a sweet romance.
Ione's Demonica universe is detailed and complex. The ethical dilemmas faced by the characters are unique and nothing is ever as it seems.
Wraith is definitely a bad-boy but there is more to him than a gruff exterior and a vicious tongue. His backstory is difficult to read but not as heartwrenching as Zarek's in the Dark Hunters or Zsadist's in BDB.
The romance plays out rapidly and is on the predictable side with the resolution to Serena's impending demise glaringly obvious. Nevertheless, it is entertaining to see how it all plays out as Wraith and Serena are a sweet couple with a compelling bond.
All in all, a good addition to the series and some surprising hints at things to come. ”
