I just couldn't get into this book either. I also didn't like the Foundation series much, though I did manage to read them all. I guess I don't like books with "scope" :)

I totally agree. People can not believe it when I tell them that I read this book again EVERY summer (I have since I was 15!) It never gets old, it's so rich and complex. I think it's just a remarkable book.

Hi Greg,Thanks for the tip. I have read Dune every summer since I was 15 and have never watched any of the movie versions. I read it on unabridged audio a couple of times, pretty good, but I had not heard anything about the BBC version. This is my favorite book so I will definitely get the BBC version. Thanks!

Agreed. Despite the inaccuracies of the David Lynch film, its visuals, ambiance, and casting compliment the book very well. I don't care how accurate the Sci-Fi miniseries version was. I cringed at it, it was just so awful.

I struggled with this one. Took way too long. Not my kind of book, I guess.
