I thought it would be historic fiction. An okay story but not good enough to reread or to read another book by this author.

It took a long time to get through it. In the end interesting story if a bit long winded. Read it if you are into remantic stories. Not much action.

I've read many of Wilbur Smith's books and Assegai continues his fast paced and well researched books. Set in East Africa on the eve of WWI it shows the attitude of the colonials and tribesmen of the period just before the war. Good story.

Entertaining, though the antagonist were not believable or well developed.

Smith's books always make me remember why I enjoy his writing so much. He's an amazing storyteller and wonderful at history.

Not one of WS's best. Just a very long hunting story. Very predicatable.
