“My bedside read. Borrowed from the TPY library, due July 12, got to get cranking on it soon. Google is one company i would love to work for. For its technology and human aspirations”

I was interested in the first 100 or so pages about the creation of Google. Sections on its rivalry and ultimate surpassing of Yahoo!, its envy and annoyance at Facebook, and the controversy over its book digitization project were interesting. I ended up skimming the last 50 pages on Gmail and the like. Adult nonfiction.”

I found the subject matter extremely interesting; however, on the downside it seemed that it was written like a textbook. I found it a very slow read considering the way it was written.

“A fresh cut on the history of Google. Stross does a good job of organizing the story by chapter around specific Google products and their evolution. If you know a lot about Google, this book probably won’t be very interesting to you. If you think you know a lot about Google, but in you own personal quiet moment of honesty, you realize you probably don’t know as much as you do, this is a good book.”
