Oh damn, just get this book either in German or your language of preference if possible! If you're into historical non-fiction, urban guerilla, history of terrorism and such stuff, you'll like this book. Even though it's thick enough to serve as a cold weapon in itself, it's a very interesting...

A detailed and frank account of the inner-workings of the terrorist "revoloutinary" "Communist" Red Army Faction, that accurately tells the tale of the groups move from idealists to lackies of the PLO, and final internment.

Oh damn, just get this book either in German or your language of preference if possible! If you're into historical non-fiction, urban guerilla, history of terrorism and such stuff, you'll like this book. Even though it's thick enough to serve as a cold weapon in itself, it's a very interesting and amusing read thanks to Aust's dynamic and offbeat journalistic writing style. He allows himself occasional outbursts of irony and gallows humour while telling in full detail the history of Red Army Faction under the lead of Baader and Ensslin (erroneously known as a Baader-Meinhof group). And as far as the German mentality allows, he also taps into the dangerous zone of questioning the motives and actions of the German government during these revolutionary times. This is indeed the highlight of investigative, neutral and unbiased journalism. Unfortunately, there's not much of it around these days anymore...

G-d, I love this book so much. This was the fourth book I read in German and Aust's prose is eminently readable and totally fascinating and very engrossing. Someone stole this book from my apartment which is a total bummer as I had notes in the margins. Anyway, I'll buy it again someday and all will be ok again.
