If such ans expansive war was ever true the cover up for it would of been amazing and it looks like it would be not that hard to restart it one of these days.”

The rather silly premise, Zombies, is taken seriously. An infectious disease transmitted by a bite spreads and kills. The corpse awakes and becomes a Zombie. The good thing about the books is that by taking this seriously and speculating on reactions, all sorts of modern foibles get examined. The format allows for multiple ultra-short narratives to be strung together. There are surprise heroes, of course. That's what this sort of set-up demands, but it is well thought through and a lot of humanity is explored. One advantage of the format is that it can be read in snippets without feeling cheated. A perfect companion for a mass transit commuter. ”

At first I was skeptical because all kidding aside, a book entirely about a Zombie invasion seemed a little stupid. Max Brooks writes in interesting interview like style. He uses his imagination to create interesting and diverse characters which are easy to enjoy. Brooks uses common events such as the war in the middle east and incorportates them into his zombie filled future. This book is well written and is a lot of fun. I think anyone could enjoy this book, given an open mind that is.”

It is amazing to me that Brooks could write a book that truly makes it sound like there was a Zombie uprising that practically decimated the world. It was realistic. It would touching. It felt /real/.
I really enjoyed this book. Hearing the stories of people who survived and played key parts in the zombie war was interesting. The interviewer talked to everyone from high up military people, doctors, down to children who had survived.
Great book. ”
