An exhaustive investigation of the young man, soon to be King. I read this as part of my research into the American Road Novel (nonfiction book I'm writing) to see the impact traveling on the road had on Elvis, but not much was presented other than his love of Cadillacs and Lincoln Continentals. Nonetheless, this is a must-read for any Elvis fan.”

He did an impeccible job portraying Elivis's life in a very unbiased light. It got a little wordy at times and contained a lot of information. Could be difficult to read at times, however I truly enjoyed the book!”

My first vivid memory from my childhood, was my grandmother crying at the news that Elvis Presley was dead. Growing up, I would listen to his music and watch his movies. This is an amazing storie from Elvis' childhood to his departure for Germany. It was actually good to read a book without the details of his meeting or marriage of Priscilla. The book also read easily and not like a tell all at all.
