- Josh Newman: Was awakened by Mars in "The Magician", and was given strategic powers by Mars. Has not learned the Elemental Magics.
- Sophie Newman: Is the moon twin of the legend. twin with Josh. Silver aura with the scent of vanilla
- Nicholas Flamel: Is Perenelle's husband. He is the legendary alchymest. Green aura with the smell of mint. Protector of Josh and Sophie.
- Perenelle Flamel: Is a powerful sorceress, and is to protect the codex and twins. Married to Nicholas. White aura. AKA Perry Fleming.
- Nicollo Machivalei: He's on a mission to capture the twins, kill the Flamels and retrieve the last 2 pages of the codex. He is doing this because Dr. John Dee has been constantly failing and needs a lot of help.
- John Dee: Immortal who works for the Dark Elders. Wields Excalibur. Has been tracking the Flamels for decades. Is on a mission to capture the twins, kill Flamel and retrieve the last 2 pages of the codex.
- Scathach: Is a Next Generation and a friend. She is a powerful warrior. Also known as Scatty. Known for her vibrant red hair. Friend of Joan of Arc.
- William Shakespeare: An immortal, not bound to an Elder. Was an apprentice of both Nicholas Flamel and Dr. John Dee, and works together with Palamedes. Hated John Dee after he killed Shakespeare's son.
- Francis Saint-Germain: Immortal Master of Fire. Married to Joan of Arc. Currently lives in Paris, masquerading as a rock star.
- Joan of Arc: Is an immortal and a friend. One of the only others with a pure silver aura. Trains and assists Sophie. Close friend of Scatty.
- Humani: Humans-all mankind
- Gligamesh: Is the King. He know all 5 magics. He is crazy, but is going to teach the twins the magic of water.
- Palamedes: Hired by Francis to assist Flamel and the twins. Is a Saracen knight and had watched King Arthur fall in battle. His aura is dark green and smells like cloves.
- Cernunnos: Archon in debt of the Dark Elders. One of the twelve Archons that ruled before the Elders. Rules over the Wild Hunt, men turned into wolves.
- Billy The Kid: Works for dark elders. Is immortal. His aura smells like ceyenne pepper.
- Bastet: Cat Goddess (Dark Elder).
- Dagon: Assistant to Dark Elders. Former assistant (still friend) to the Machiavelli. Wants to kill Scatty. Did not succeed, of course.
- Juan Manuel De Ayala: Founder and former owner of Alcatraz, the ghost guardian of Alcatraz, friend to Perenelle.
- Badb: The second sister living within the crow goddess
- Macha: One of the sisters of the crow goddess that is trapped inside of the crow goddess.
- Hekate: Goddess with 3 faces that changes in order of the sun. She awakened Sophie and died protecting her shadowrealm,
- Danu Talis: What the humani call Atlantis.
