I must admit that I was a little torn when writing this review. First I like the continuation of the Pendergast, D'Agosta, Haywood, Constance and other characters, who appeared earlier in the series. There were a lot of things that I absolutely loved about it.....like the (1)unexplained hatred that Diogenes has for his brother Aloysius Pendergast (similar to the Cain and Abel storyline from the Bible); (2) the eternal love that Pendergast has for "complicated" one true love (who is kidnapped...

Dance of Death can perhaps be forgiven for having the most cornball title of any book I've read in the last five years. That's because the writing team of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Childs have cooked up an outrageously fun thriller that is perfect summer reading.

Preston and Childs' books have had an increasingly "pulpy" feel to them of late-for me that is not a problem, as I love the old pulp serials of the 30's and 40's. Some of the first novels I remember reading as a child...
