This book is the first of a series by Neggers. I had won the book on Writers space last week and I enjoyed it. I look forward to her second of the series "Cold River"

Very enjoyable read. What I loved most about this book is that not all lose ends are tied off. There are questions about the 'organization' and how Jo and Elijah will manage. I like that. There leaves more to the imagination and I wouldn't mind if Neggers turned this into a series or trilogy. Though, if you only like books that finish with no future hurdles for the couple and all bad guys locked up you may think twice about reading this.

Action packed book and while you pretty much know who all the players are and what their agenda is it's not all given to you in the first few chapter. Discovering how it all plays out and who turns on the other and wondering who will and won't make it leaves you unwilling to put the book down.

Jo and Elijah are a perfectly balancing couple. I love how they've known each other their whole lives and how their romance was snuffed out at a young age. Very Romeo and Juliet without the horribly sad ending. I do however, wish that Neggers gave us a bit more about their past. I kept thinking that there was more to the story then what she was giving us, only to find out that there wasn't. I was a bit disappointed by that. I wanted more depth there. Neggers did do a fantastic job setting up the tension and Jo is definitely a strong take no crap kind of girl, just the type I like reading about.

This is my second foray into a Neggers book and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.

Some questions remain at the end, but overall I enjoyed the setting and characters. A good winter read.
