Her choice to not marry (yet) and not have kids (yet) has left certain elders to believe that her use as a tabby won't help her case. In spite of the evidence presented to them, certain members of the...” see full review » see other reviews » |

If you haven't read Stray and Rogue already, head to your local bookstore and pick up a copy. This is an excellent series. Like its predecessors, Pride is fast paced full of action, suspense, and romance. This series is a real page turner, by the end of the book there have been new and startling discoveries which will have you begging for more.
Rachel Vincent is an amazing author and one of my favorites. I love her writing style and the characters in this series are amazing. I can’t wait to see what adventures the next installment has in store for Faythe. The 4th installment of this series called Prey comes out in July.”
“I'm on trial for my life. Falsely accused of infecting my human ex-boyfriend—and killing him to cover up the crime. Infecting a human is one of three capital offenses recognized by the Pride—along with murder and disclosure of our existence to a human. I'm two for three. A goner. Now we've discovered a rogue stray terrorizing the mountainside, hunting a wild teenage tabbycat. It's up to us to find and stop him before a human discovers us. With my lover Marc's help, I think I can protect the vulnerable girl from both the ambitious rogue and the scheming of the territorial council. If I survive my own trial…

“The trial, the tabby, and the coup...
Again, I loved the book but it wasn't my favourite because I spent most of it totally annoyed at the Alphas and the whole stupid trial thing, which I know was the point but I like a book that leaves me happy, or expectant, not annoyed. All that said I still give it 2 thumbs up.”
“A+”

So Faythe is submitted to go in front of a werecat Tribunal, 3 of the other werecat Alphas from the werecat council who will preside over her trial and debate over the facts and come to a decision over her sentence in result of her offence. She is accompanied by her Father and Alpha, Marc, main enforcer & her lover, Michael, her brother and lawyer, and Jace, fellow enforcer, and friend.
The Alpha's on the tribunal besides her Uncle Rick, who is on her side, are inclined to believe that Faythe is quilty of all charges, and killed her ex to cover up the fact that she infected him, if unknowingly at the time.
Meanwhile, a local bruin Elias Keller, seeks out the werecats help informing them that there are some strays in the area and they could've possibly attacked the missing human campers in the area. So the Alpha's send out teams to search for the strays and also the missing human campers, with dangerous results, as they find several strays working together to create their own "Rocky Mountain Pride" which no official pride like that exists. Also Keller, finds a starving teenage tabby whom he knocks out and brings her to the werecats staying at the Montana lodge thinking she's one of their own.
Faythe ends up befriending the scared tabby and helping her shift back to human form, (also getting in trouble since she talked to the tabby without the Alpha's permission) and finds out that she is from canada and she knows about where the human campers are and that the other strays have been following her trying to add a tabby to their makeshift pride of strays.
I'm not gonna spoil the ending for ya, but it gets much more interesting from there and Faythe has to cope with the consequences of her actions from the past, and helping the teenage tabby learn how to deal with her life now. This is a very good series if you like shifters/werewolves or wereanimals books. Start with Stray, the first book in the series and it gets better from there. Definetly a must read!”
“The third book of the Shifter Series is the best in my opinion. The story is frustrating with this whole trial and the injustice of it. But the world isn't always fair and I think Vincent shows that really good in her book. But the whole Marc incident nearly took my breath away. That's really gruesome and I don't like it. But again life is no picnic. after all it's a good book and I couldn't stop reading it. Looking forward to Book No 4”
