I'd never read Shelley's original, just abridged and re-written versions, but I wanted to read what I'd taken to be a classic of modern English literature. Whilst I appreciate the novelty and precociousness of Mary Shelley's novel - judged by the time of writing and publication in...

Frankestein is a great novel about humanity and physical appearance. Although it's moral is similar to the book called "The Elephant Man", their stories are different from each other, and the way the writer explains the theme. Frankestein was a book that broke my heart, who would deserve to live such a life? Although I think most of you have read it, I still want to write that you should read it, you should!

This is easily one of the best books ever written. It's a real shame that people always think of Frankenstein's monster as the beast they've been shown in movies.

Such a great story, and so beautifully written. It really transports you to the time period. The movie adaptions completely bastardized this wonderful, sad story. You really find youself thinking about who was the real monster.

Fantastic book. Shelley focused on a lot of dark and light emotions that anyone can easily relate to. If anyone ever asked me whether or not they should read it, I would undoubtedly say yes.
