My whole family got involved with this book, taking the surveys to find their personalities and then looking at the job characteristics and occupations that fit their personalities. This book uses the same 4 letter system of labeling personality as the Kearsey Temperament Test we took in College 101 at WLC. After my dad studied his job suggestions, he said, "I guess I'll make plates for the rest of my life." (he makes plates for printing presses to make books for a living.) Andy was making a special brunch for us in celebration of my one year anniversary of my pulmonary embolism, and he said it was ready, so I asked my dad, "could you make me a plate now?" :) had to be there...

If you want to manage people better, this book will help. It's based on the Myers Briggs Personality Type indicator. it is a priceless management tool to make sure you get optimal person-organisation-role fit. Of course you can apply it to yourself for optimal career management - to do what you're best at and enjoy the most. I recommend it to all my elite clients who seek the extra edge to get along better as well as optimise their marketing spend. With this knowledge you'll know not only WHAT to tell your prospects, but HOW to do it much more convincingly. It's a must-read for anyone who manages a team or people that wants to get them to work as a High Performance Team.

I'll admit, I didn't actually finish this book - we read it for a Leadership Development Program at my company and were only required to read the first few chapters plus the chapter for our own Myers-Briggs personality type. Technically, reading all of the types would be finishing the book, but I've got other things to read! I did find the book interesting, but you can find almost all of this information on the internet, so it may not be worth the purchase.

This so far has been a great way to see how you react and relate to certain situations and people. It also shows you how others might act and different ways you can interact with them to help bring out their strengths. I am learning so much about my personality, how I am perceived by others, what are my weaknesses and strengths. I think the biggest thing I have learned so far is what to look for in other people.

Very good application of MBTI to career planning. Certainly better and more useful than other resources I have seen.

Fascinating book on career decision based upon Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), includes practical examples of each style, recommended careers for research, career satisfaction issues, strengths and weaknesses based upon the MBTI, even job search hints tuned to the individual types.

Using your Meyers Briggs results (a personality test) to determine what career(s) you may be good at. Also helps you to better recognize your inherent strengths and weaknesses. Overall a good book, I just don't know enough about the Meyers Briggs system in terms of its validity. I did think that my section (ENFP) did fairly accurately describe both my overall personality, work ethics, and interests. This is a book I may refer back to on occasions and would recommend to anyone unsure of their current or future career path.
