One of the main girl characters is Brittany. She is a very popular person in school. Everybody thinks shes perfect, Brittany thinks that she has to be perfect now, by the way she talks, looks, and acts.
One of the main guy character is Alex. He is a Latino who is in a gang. Everybody is very scared of him, and thinks he is going to go no where in life. He took over, when he was old enough, from his father who was killed.

" Everybody needed me to be perfect, but Alex. He actually supported me, and i can be myself around him." pg. 67

An important setting was when Alex "kidnapped" her to a place where he stops and thinks about things. Brittany honestly did not like Alex, she thought being with him would ruin her reputation. Alex and Brittany went to his uncle's garage and just started talking about each other, they both realized they have much in common. Their relationship starts to ease a little, when Brittany and Alex are on the beach in two separate parties, but end up together when he rescues her while throwing up drunk. He takes her back to Isa's house and tries to help clean her up.

This book was very interesting, it showed how two total different person got together and started to get to know each other, and ended up falling in love. Brittany was a girl who didn't know what to do with her self no more, she was overwhelmed. Carlos and her would let out their feelings with each other because they could be themselves around each other, After two people couldn't stand each other, they ended up not being able to be without each other, In the end they didn't care what other people said all they wanted to do was be with each other.
