- Aphra: Aphra is the main character and the narrator. for several years, she and her father have lived on a resort. When the Smiths show up, she must become like her missing mother in order to survive.
- Seth: Seth Mulo first appears in ''Death by Bikini'' under a different name, Adam Smith. His parents were a part of a sleeper cell, putting them in danger because the Mole wants them dead. He is a love interest for Aphra.
- Ryan: An undercover CIA agent, Ryan has been assigned to protect Aphra. he first appears in "Death by Latte" as a college student. In that book, Aphra thinks he is one of the Mole's agents.
- M. Leveque: He helped Aphra and her mom a lot. He gave them food, shelter, and money in order to survive, and was their CIA connection.
- Labruzzo: One of the people who worked for The Mole.
