I read this about 10yrs ago. My first novel from E.Lynn and I have been hooked ever since. Ive never been a closed minded person......people are people to me and who they love is just that!!! The characters you find here can be everyday folks u pass each day. Ivisible life sadly is how some folk feel about theirs....and they shouldnt. Be proud of who u are!

This was one of my first E. Lynn Harris books that I read. I read it when I was in college and was facinated about the way that E. Lynn told the story that so many of the Black men that I knew were going thru similar situations. Easy read and a great book to have some coversation with friends.

Good read. Simply written. Layered when necessary . The depiction of gay black men in this novel was believable and tastefully exercised.

Romance, comedy, heartache, disappointment, and love. This is what you will find in Invisible Life. This book was the first I ever read by E. Lynn Harris and thankfully I did because I just find out that there was two other books of his that follow up on the story. The book follows the life of Raymond Tyler (Ray) from his college years as a senior to the peak of his adult years as a lawyer. He meets Kelvin as a senior who shows him the other side of male sexuality. Raymond struggles to keep this secret from his girlfriend Sela, and also his family.

"Invisible Life" shows how hard it is for a black male and and also go through the difficulties of being gay or bisexual. It's captivating because it's something that I didn't know about and I took it as a learning process coming through the eyes of the main character Raymond and his friends Kelvin, Kyle, Quinn and JJ.

I have to admit some of the parts of the book had me quizzy, but I had to be open minded, especially on the intimate parts that the character's had encountered and the mellow moments that they shared. The story line was great and I was anxious to get into the second book which I'm already in. Good work Harris.
