“This was a great read - I read it the first time when I was in high-school but I have read it a few times again since and I still think the story is fantastic. This book deals with the heavy concepts of slavery, racism, sexism and yet in such a beautiful way. It touches on the issues of peoples resistance to change and the power that one person can have to effect that change.

It is not a difficult read as it does seem to be aimed at the young adult market - but well worth the time and I would recommend it no matter what age you are.
