I actually discovered this on my nightstand at my mom's second apartment; how it got there, I don't know. But I had nothing to do; I wasn't getting any inspiration for my stories, there was nothing good on TV, and I hadn't brought any others books to read, so I picked this up and quickly got very into it.

So far, I am at about chapter 3 and really enjoying it. There were moments last night, reading roughly chapter 2, where I was bursting out laughing at random moments and my roommate thought I was crazy. But I couldn't explain the book to her; some books, you have to experience to know, they cannot be explained.

However, throughout reading it, I am experiencing a sustained feeling that this is going to end "Fox and the Hound" ish, with Shreve having to let Charlie go, like the old woman Tweed had to do with Tod. :( I hope I'm wrong, but if I'm not, I bet I'll cry. We'll see.

Any one else have any thoughts on this book? I see there is no discussion on it as of yet, so I hope to start one, even though I'm unsure if I'll be able to sustain discussion. College sucks your soul, you know...

Finish it, it isn't a sad ending.
