Ally and her family run the Moon Shadow campground, where a total eclipse of the sun is about to occur. People from all over the world are coming to see it. One of those coming is Bree, whose scientific parents are coming to take over the Moon campground. Bree is all girl with major interests in makeup, clothes, and the mall. Another person coming to the campground is Jack, who flunked science and is supposed to attend summer school. His teacher, Mr. Silver, calls and asks he to accompany a group attending the eclipse instead of attending summer school. Ryan is another teenager who comes to the campground each summer with his grandparents. Ryan is into football and weight-lifting. While he and Ally have been friends for years, this summer he is more interested in beautiful Bree. Ally's little brother Kenny and Bree's little sister Melanie, who are both interested in science, complete the group of youngsters who help to discover an ecoplanet and become interested in the stars, planets, and the solar eclipse. They all learn more about themselves and learn to accept changes in their lives when Ally's family leaves the campground and Bree's family moves in. Jack learns from the others that he can make friends and starts exercising with Ryan to become more fit. This was a great book. The characters were well developed, the plot moved quickly, and I became so interested in the characters that I didn't want to stop reading. This book will be popular with the kids.
