This is a charming book filled with most of the Peanuts characters that you know and love so well. To get to know these characters even more, you can look at this book and see what they were first like when they were babies. Charlie Brown didn't start out with his famous striped shirt, and Lucy had some very strange eyes. Charles Schulz has a hilarious book about true life problems and makes you see a slightly funnier side to them, and makes you happy to be alive.

This is a pretty fun look at the characters' beginnings. There is also an interesting interview with Schulz at the end of the book where he talks about some of the strips and a little about the business of comic strips.

How can one not like Ol' Charlie Brown? There's one inside of every single one of us... Some more than others (I include myself in that portion of people). But the beginning to me wasn't so exciting... It seems Charlie Brown had to grow before he became the character as we Know today...

I love this book so much! The characters are so old-fashioned and cute, and it's so funny. I love the beachball part.

What a treat to have ALL the Peanuts cartoons compiled in chronological order! I'm reading each volume as it comes out, and can't wait for the next!

Anxious to get the whole series. It's remarkable how few of these early strips seem dated. Schultz's observations are timeless
