Hester is in danger, let's see the lengths that Monk and Rathbone will go to to help her. Plus, it's set in Edinburgh.

This is one of my Anne Perry favorites. In the book, Hester was set up and charged to the murder of one of her patients who died on a train ride to London. Monk and Rathbone must then work together, despite their differences, to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Hester did not do it. We also see here the love triangle between the three, and how Monk, in the end, won the girl. An amazing story. Vivid details as well. Felt as if I were in 1800 Scotland.
