Don't let the title or the cover fool you. This book is a great add to your library. It brought a smile to my face almost about every page. ;-)

Interestingly enough, there's not much about "Satan" in this book. Mostly, it seemed to me to be a guidebook for getting what you want....in witchy ways.

Not to mean you will be flying around on a broom, or sacrificing lambs in the name of the Dark Lord.......more of a guidebook on how to use your wiles, your intention, your menstrual blood even - to gain some kind of control & fulfill your desires.
I found it to be strange, and yet it was amusing, so whatever.

Ignore the stereotypical connotations that run through your mind when your hear the words 'satanism', 'witchcraft' or 'LaVey'. A lot of the so called 'black arts' are simply obscure forms of psychiatry; essentially the study of human behaviour and how to manipulate it to your desire albeit in a more disturbed way than what one would expect with a visit to the psych... This is why literature of this sort is considered 'taboo'. LaVey's method might be considered pseudoscience and some chapters like 'The Lesbian Witch' were a howl but I found the LaVey Personality Synthesizer Clock comparable to Jungian Personality Typology. It determines personality more or less on the physical makeup of a person which might come off as shallow but it's been pretty accurate with the people I've been applying it to so far. Although not in true 'clock' format with illustrations like in the book you can still get a good idea of it here: http://www.bifrosttarot.com/lps.html

The Satanic Witch is not about Satan. Yes, he gets an honorable mention here and there, but the content of this book is at the heart of popular culture. It is a truly astute description of the dynamics of human behavior as motivated by sexuality and power. The truths in this book are presented in a way that unabashedly reveals what most people would prefer nobody knows, not to mention, it's fun.
