“What an interesting place Shadowscape seems to be and, yet, not a place I would wish to spend much time. In fact it sorta reminded me of the movie "Pleasantville," where everything is in black and white for most of the movie. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next one. I have been a Jacquelyn...”see full review » see other reviews »

“Not a fan of this book, really slow and choppy start. Picked up the pace toward the end but I lost interest quickly and struggled to finish it.”see full review » see other reviews »
“Ashla had a very tough life and alot to overcome. Who would ever think that a mother could do that stuff to a child. Trace was able to help her and guide her to the Dweller that she was born to be but not with out alot of life threatening problems. Crossover with The Nightwalkers series.”KRISTY20 wrote this review Saturday, December 1, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“It was pretty good,it was kinda slow at first but after about 70 pages it really picks up.
I loved Trace he's so awesome, this is a very interesting world that he comes from and it was cool to learn about some of the things that happen in his world.there are somethings that even shocked me but then you think about it and it might actually make it less awkward in real life if we had some of these rules . i really enjoyed reading about him and Ashla that make a great couple and i just loved seeing them together ,it so great how everyone know they can trust him and that no matter what he will always try and help his people.
Ashla is a interesting character and it was so awful to lean how she grew up ,her family is so awful and i can not believe her mother what a bitch and her bother just sounds so evil ,i felt bad for her but i thought it was so awesome how Trace just knew what to do for her and it was great to see them fall in love.
I really liked their story ,it has a good plot which leaves off in this book but i can not wait to read more about this world, i loved the other characters too they were all great and the next book sounds really good.
Jacquelyn Frank writes a story where you fall in love with the characters and want to learn more about the world they live in .”
“Good book. Just to much of a sexual romance for me.”Nicole Littlefield wrote this review Wednesday, February 15, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“It was a good start for the series. Trace is a good tortured hero and Ashla is cute.”Layne wrote this review Wednesday, September 7, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Ecstasy is the first book in a new spin-off series by Jacquelyn Frank. Ashla Townsend finds herself in a post apocalyptic world after she wakes up from a fatal car crash. She is the only living person until she finds two huge warrior men fighting one another in a department store. Trace, a shadowdweller is surprised that the beautiful human woman can see and hear him. In the shadow world no human should be able to. Strangely enough, Trace and Ashla form a unique connection even though they both may be in danger with a traitor among his people.
Ecstacy is my first Jacquelyn Frank novel. I found the book to be inconsistent at times. The first part of the book was fairly interesting and had my complete attention. As I continued reading, the pace would slow, pick up, slow down etc. It seemed that a lot of the book would be internal monologues from either Trace or Eden and that is when the pace would slow down for me. I liked it when the action was taking place. When that was going on I really liked the book. When Trace or Eden were overly thinking things and rambling on in their heads is when I would lose interest.
I liked the world that Jacquelyn Frank created. It was unique and interesting. I just wish she would have focused on it more than she did. I think that if there would have been less internal dialogue and more action, I would have enjoyed this book more than I did. I liked the characters, both Eden and Trace. I feel that I want to give Ms. Frank another try. I may go back and try one of her Nightwalker novels.
“F.ound it quite difficult to get into and tended to skip bits. Maybe as the series goes on it might get better. I think the main problem was that I felt no affinity for the characters and just didn't care what happened to them”Sara R wrote this review Thursday, February 10, 2011. “Slow starter and difficult to follow at first. However, the storyline becomes very intricate and heated with a great finale and introduction into this tangent of the Nightwarlker world.
