Didn’t Like It3 of 3 members found this review helpful“I must say, this book actually came as a huge disappointment for me. I thought the idea behind it all was fascinating (which is why I picked it up), but the writing style really failed to deliver. She babbled on too much for my taste about things I really couldn't care less about, and I found her...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“Maybe the first time in my life that I enjoyed the movie more than the book. ”

I was really expecting something cute and funny...I hope the movie is better. The F word used in the most ridiculous of times. Her talk of 9/11 and the blackout are without any real emotion. She lacks humor........It was terrible terrible terrible.”

It makes me feel like I am actually pretty professional,
Except for it raises for me that whole conundrum of art. You know where you see some thing, and you think "I could have done that" but you DIDN"T, did you?
You just sat there looking around at things critically.
Hmmmph, well, this book has inspired me to try again, or at least remind me, I am trying, perhaps without tangible results, as of yet, but I am practicing my form with the Forschner, daily, and I write like a fiend.
Surely somewhere along the way, the twain shall meet?”
“Easy read but the story wasn't about Julia Child, which is ok, but kinda misleading. Cute story but yes, I would be one of the ones she complains about in the book that don't like the constant F-bombs. ”

I don't know how the writers of the movie even came up with their character Julie Powell, because the books character was completely opposite! I never even finished it, I didn't care how it ended.”

I never knew so much about Julia Childs. I am also a avid blog writer and reader, so I enjoyed that this somewhat real life task began as one girl took on her dream with the blog as the ignitor!”
