    A great book!

The main character is a boy, Robin, who gets "pushed around", is smaller than others, has average grades, etc. Then this good powerful sorcerer finds him and takes him as an apprentice, because he has potentially great powers. And it shows.

Robin starts being able to works spells much earlier than most apprentice sorcerers do.

The main plot is when a bullying girl get captured and dragged into a adjoining world. Robin and his friends go to save her...but Robin missed a tiny part of the traveling spell and they didn't land together, but in different parts of the world.

Using the map each has, they travel to a symbol on the map that is the same as a pendent Robin once had. There they all meet up...but they meet in prison. The lord of this area serves "The Shadow" who is out to capture Robin.

While they are standing before him, Robin's master comes in and fights the lord. But he didn't get time to use magic, so they fought physically (and the lord was stronger). Robin then tried to use his magic, but it had a different effect than back in his own world.

It caused an earthquake, and Robin & his friends escaped just in time.

My opinion: I would have given this 5 stars but for that it was only about 250 pages and for a audience of 10-14. I prefer books for older teens.
But I liked how this didn't have any adult material at all...except if you count girls looking at boys and making them blush. And dancing with them.
