This book was pretty good, and was an easy read. I found the main character to be interesting, even though she was eccentric and a little strange. The plot-line was easy to follow, and I could relate to it being a teenage girl growing up in the United States. I would recommend this book to anyone...

This book was pretty good, and was an easy read. I found the main character to be interesting, even though she was eccentric and a little strange. The plot-line was easy to follow, and I could relate to it being a teenage girl growing up in the United States. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for something light to pick up, it would make a good bedside book.

One thing I did like was the style of writing Rachel Cohn used. It made the book seem very realistic, and got me immersed into the characters' world.

"After being kicked out of a fancy New England boarding school, Cyd Charisse is back home in San Francisco with her parents, Sid and Nancy, in a household that drives her crazy. Lucky for Cyd, she's always had Gingerbread, her childhood rag doll and confidante.
After Cyd tests her parents' permissiveness, she is grounded in Alcatraz (as Cyd calls her room). But when her incarceration proves too painful for the whole family, Cyd's parents decide to send her to New York to meet her biological father and his family, whom Cyd has always longed to know.
Summer in the city is not what Cyd Charisse expects - and Cyd isn't what her newfound family expects, either. "

good book about a teenager who hates cali and loves ny. she loves sweets and dosen't get fat eating them. the book is written in weird phrases the main charectar uses that sound weird, also she is foul mouthed with a bad reputation in her family.

I really loved this book. I liked it because it was a very understanding and readable book you can read. It was let's say a very interesting book when I got to the end of the book. This book reminds me of a movie I saw wear this boy and this girl broke up and then got back together in the end. I remember just that one scene from this movie that I totally forgot the title too. I love movies with those kinds of endings. Just in conclusion I really loved this book!!

An edgy novel that takes the reader on a journey through the mind of Cyd Charisse, a troubled teenager who's trying to find herself. After being kicked out of boarding school and not adjusting to life with her all too perfect mother Cyd escapes to New York to live with her absent father. In trying to find her "perfect" family she finds herself instead.
