Didn’t Like It“Purely a summer read. A nice simple book to sit on the deck and read quickly. I think I've read most of her books. They're a simple, quick, enjoyable read.” see full review » see other reviews » |

Very classic Joy Fielding. I almost felt clostrophobic reading the main character's story. There are some very interesting twists, some you see coming and some you don't.”

It was disturbing but also I was compelled to read it to see how the character manages recovery. There's an element of suspense too that kept me reading trying to figure out who tried to kill the main character.”

This story is told completely from the perspective of a comatose patient (Claire) who, unbeknownst to friends and family, is aware of her surroundings. Although it first appears to be a tragic accident, Claire learns that someone is out to kill her-and in her comatose state she is completely helpless to stop it. Although telling a story with one location (a hospital room) and limited action could completely drag, Fielding keeps the plot moving with backstory and many discussions in front comatose Claire (although at some points you just want her to wake up already). The ending isn't that surprising but still satisfying. ”
