My room mate and I are sharing e-books lately and we've been having this reading time at night before we go to bed. This has been for like a week now. I couldn't wait to get home and be done with tasks so that I can start reading where I stopped the night before.
She asked me what I was reading a few days ago. So I answered, "Ang Paboritong Libro ni Hudas."
She quickly reacted, "Nonsense." To which I just kept quiet. Not because I agree with her; and not because I disagree. I just wasn't in the mood to say something nor argue at that time because I just wanted to go on reading. And that if I reacted positively or negatively, I deem it premature since I was just somewhere in the beginning of the book.
Now I'm done.
I'm not going to argue if she says so again. But not because I agree. This time it is because the book is so good that you will have to experience it.
Contrary to the title, the book is full of wisdom. You just have to dig deeper. Every insight, perception, intelligence is embedded within the humour, wit, hilarity of the story. Again, I had to turn back to some pages several times just to make sure that I get the story write, and I get the wisdom behind his comical stories.
Truly, this could be Judas' favorite book because the main character of the story didn't believe in God (or is it so?). He died and was on his way to heaven. He was having a conversation with God and God wants to know his belief and asks him where he thinks God is taking him: to heaven or hell? Along the way, he discusses the seven deadly sins, which is Judas' favorite topic, I can tell.
Envy, Anger, Pride, Slut, Gluttony, Sloth, and Covetousness. You wouldn't believe how he implanted these seven deadly sins in the story. Well, at least for me, I was really amazed at how he did. Honestly, I didn't realize it until I was more than halfway through the story. I want to discuss it here but I don't want this to be a spoiler. That's why I really suggest that you read the book and find out for yourself. You may be wittier than me to discover the seven deadly sins on the early part, and I would admire you if you do.

Higit sa favorite color, zodiac sign, motto, at sagot sa "What is Love?, gusto kong makilala ang isang tao base sa kung ano ang mga bagay na katawa-tawa para sa kanya. Natatawa ba s'ya sa Leaning Tower of Pisa? Sa Kulani? Sa EDSA 3? Sa duo na Porkchop? Sa nadadapang clown? Sa nagsasabi ng "Bulaga"? Ngumingiti ba s'ya o humahalakhak? Dinig ba sa Africa ang tawa niya? Gaano n'ya kabilis makuha ang isang joke? Ilang minuto nagtatagal ang tawa n'ya? Paano s'ya tumatawa: simpleng "hehe," gumugulong sa sahig, tumatalbog, sinisinok, lumuluha, tumatalsik ang pustiso, nakikita ang esophagus, nangingitim at hindi makahinga, o nanginginig lang ang labi habang nakatitig sa kawalan?

Naalala ko nung pmasok ako dati nang walang assignment dahil nakalimutan ko. Nagulat na lang ako dahil ako pa ang pinasagot niya sa first question. Nakatingin s'ya habang binubuksan ko ang notebook kong alam ko namang walang laman. Ang hindi n'ya alam, nagdadasal na 'ko noon na sana lumindol at bumuka ang lupa, tapos magkasunog, magka-giyera, bumagyo, bumaha, at magunaw na ang mundo! Basta't wag n'ya lang malaman na wala akong assignment. Kaso wala e, hindi ako nakalusot. Pero hindi naman s'ya nagalit. Sabi n'ya lang cute ako. At mas bagay ako sa labas ng room.
