Completely over-the-top manic comedy. Not for the squeamish.

A typical Serge A. Storm adventure. Funny and maniacal, with less plot than normal.

Another wild ride with Serge and Coleman. This time they are traveling down the east coast of FL and happen to get involved with a gang robbing diamond couriers. All the usual insanity ensues as Serge spouts FL history and tries to teach it to anyone who will listen. His vigilante justice gets the better of a few of these baddies and he keeps one step ahead of them. There is a nice little twist at the end that did catch me by surprise. Mahoney is still on his tail, but doesn't really want to arrest him. I can't decide if Tim Dorsey is becoming a little formulaic with this one. I liked Big Bamboo more than this one and some of the older ones had a bit more bite. Don't get me wrong, I was still laughing at this one, but I am finding Serge and his antics a little tiresome and predictable. While it is fun predicting his next move, most of them are pretty obvious.

    Dark humour at its best.

Typical of the Serge series. How Dorsey comes up with some of Serge's vigilante schemes are a bit twisted thought, but entertaining nevertheless. Good interplay with Agent Mahoney in this one. Just as madcap as the other 8 or 9 of these that I have read. Read this a bit out of order, but you really do not need to read these in order as sometimes the timeline also jumps around. Sometimes you get Lenny as a sidekick, sometimes Coleman. (Coleman appears to be back full time and is the better alternative anyway). Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

hard to root for an absolute horror of a main character. Imagine if a vigilante were doing away with all the assholes in a really inventive manner.
    Funny

One of Dorsey's zany & lurid mysteries featuring Serge A. Storms, Florida's favorite psychotic antihero. I love all the references to off-beat Florida locales.

I have not even finished the book and I find myself writing a review already. Nuclear Jellyfish has plenty of seemingly nonsensical humor that will keep you laughing and that helps to develop one of the nuttiest and most interesting character you will have ever encountered. The character's mental state is key to Tim Dorsey's unique writing style and how he slowly lets the reader begin piecing together the mysterious plot. I eagerly await the unforseen conclusion sure to come as I read this book.
