If you're into Jungian psychology and dream symbolism this for sure is a must read. It is astounding.” see full review » see other reviews » |
“One of the best books I've ever read.
An exploration of the elements and structure of mythology across civilizations. The book explores the relevance and reality of myth in our own life.”

It is essential for people who do any kind of creative writing, but it's also an amazing book by one of America's most entertaining scholars. ”

In it he outlines the monomyth (heroic cycle) found in myths and stories across continents and eras, finally coming to an understanding of the universal story that describes the human experience. Anyone wanting to understand the meaning of life should read it.”

Took me two attempts to finish, it was worth it in the end. Don't agree with some of the theories, but... one will never agree 100% on most things (especially subjects where there are no obvious answers like mythology.)”
