Title: ONE FALSE NOTE
Author: Gordon Korman
The series of books, THE 39 CLUES, is a thrilling and adventurous series full of mystery and life threatening danger. The second book in the series, ONE FALSE NOTE, dives even deeper into the quest for the 39 clues that have taken young Amy and Dan Cahill half way around the world. As these clues are spread all across the globe the chase starts in Manhattan and then takes them all over Europe. Within the first two books Amy and Dan have been able to uncover the first two of the clues. The second book is about the second clue which is based on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart who was considered to be the greatest classical composer who ever lived.
Clues about Mozart’s life provide a great challenge for these young competitors. In fact Amy and Dan are the youngest in the competition. They are orphans with very little money and very little power. Yet by the end of the story they find themselves in the lead. By combining their rational thinking and big imaginations Amy and Dan find the second clue while dodging death more than three times throughout the story. The twist is that the competitors that are trying to kill Amy and Dan are their own family.
Now that Amy and Dan have the second clue and the lead who knows what lengths their own family members will go to, to steal it from them. As Mr. McIntyre, a wise old man, has told them, trust no one.”
“Even better than the first!”
