“Sometimes, bitter-sweet things from the past turn into sweet memories. I saw this book when I was daydreaming of my days in India. Even her overly sarcastic voice didn't annoy me. Her whining was understandable, as I have gone through similar experiences. I enjoyed reading about her journey throughout India, but the last chapter seemed rushed, as if a TV commercial was cued up, so the program had to be wrapped up as beautifully and as quickly as possible. That almost ruined the flow of the story I was reading. Otherwise, it was a fun read.”

I thought the ending didn't really match the rest of the book, like it was written by somebody else. It took me back to India, so I liked that, but it was all a bit self centred for me.”

I am an Indian and I am very suspicious of liberals motives as much as I am of other religious supremacists (Evangelicals) of the world and their take on India and their intent to ethnically cleanse India off the Hindu culture and supplant it with their own with the help of India's liberal left. I often find them malicious. Although Sarah has a liberal slant to her views, she is extremely honest with the absence of malicious intent.
I could not put this book down. I laughed (in a good way) at her honest musings on things.
This is a very relevant read, if you really want to understand India. This coming from a BJP supporting Indian.
Good job.”
“I read this book 2 years ago, and loved it. Read it about the time the Eat,Pray, Love book was all the rage. I enjoyed both, although very different, but found Holy Cow to be more enjoyable. Having lived my whole life overseas, this book really brought home to me, many of the cultural observations, reactions, empathies, and ability to step outside one's experiences, and see within each of the differences, similarities.
her writing style was fun, humourous, and yes, I imagine mostly women could relate more to her story. My book has been passed around to many in my office when they go on vacation. Has become the "vacation book" to read when laying on a beach. read mine while in Punta Cana. good fun!”
“After having been to India myself, I chuckled my way through this book and was SO sad to see it end. HIGHLY recommended. Excellent view into the wonder and strangeness of the country.”
