Great book for writers, or want to be writers. Although it is brutally honest, and a little off the wall, it really is a true glimpse into a writers world. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to write or is an unpublished author. You will be inspired to keep writing.

A quirky read. Hilarious at times, though somewhat "draggy" in-the-between. There are things with regard to writing that I can "relate" with Ms. Lamott and there are also those I think were unnecessarily exaggerated. Was recommended by my friend's friend.

It's a great book for aspiring writers, especially for ones to write fiction or even a novel, who don't want to be lectured, instead really learn from real thoughts of a writer.

I think this is a fantastic writer's book. I love her writing, and especially the way she teaches about writing. I listened to one of her workshops on cassette and it was wonderful! I laughed AND cried!

She's funny! And she is a great writer who is good at disecting what she does for others. What a great set of skills. I want to read more of her books now.

I'm finding this book to be amazingly helpful. The analogies Anne uses help the concepts to drop into place like a puzzle piece completes the picture. I love it. As a craft book, I'd suggest every fiction writer get this one and keep it for reference.
