Marcie leaves on a trip into the California mountains in order to find her late husband's best friend. One year prior her husband finally died from injuries sustained in Iraq 3 years prior. Her best friend and commander has short correspondence with Marcie and Bobby and then disappear. Marcie is unable to move on so decides to look for Ian to try to understand his actions. Once Marcie finds Ian she finds a man who is unwilling to even come close to the subject of Iraq or her husband's injuries. During the time Marcy spends with Ian attempting to give him time to trust her and talk, they fall in love.
Erin Foley: Marcie's older sister who helped raise her after her parents died. She is an extremely competent Attorney but come across to her younger siblings as bossy.
Drew Foley: Marcie's brother who is currently a med student.
Jack Sheridan: Former Marine, married to Mel and owner of the bar and grill.
Mel Sheridan: Married to Jack, a nurse practitioner/midwife.
