I was given this book by my spiritual mentor Nicholas in high school. It's passages have been inspirational to me for over a decade. Simple, easy to read stories give deep insight to life and the world around us. Growing up attending the catholic church, Thomas Merton was the first step in my understanding that all religions are the same and the spiritual side of our existence can be seen from many different points of view.
