“Even though the messages of Alonzo Mourning's life journey are cliched, they are true in every aspect. Skin color, social class are things that SHOULD NOT and DON'T have an effect on our dreams in this modern world. They do provide us with struggle sometimes, but pursuing a dream is something every human has the right to do and Alonzo Mourning makes that message clear in his 'faith' 'focus' and 'triumph'”

He talked about his childhood and growing up in foster care (by choice!); going to Georgetown; and making it to the NBA--playing for the Hornets (when they were still in Charlotte), the Nets and the Heat. He also talked in depth about battling kidney disease, his transplant and recovery. He also discusses his outstanding charitable work and his walk with God. Even though his playing days may be over, he will continue to inspire more people through his work and this book. I've always admired him as a player, but I have even more respect for him after reading this book.”
