I love her writing. There's tenderness and humor. I really draws you in to the books the way she writes about the characters.

Deep breath...Argh! I thought maybe, just maybe this one would be one to break the mold.

I read the prologue, and I honestly thought that Con was the hero...usually that's what a prologue is for to give you some background information on the story or the characters. But although Con is...

I love the REgency genre, and this one was great. Exceptional heroine.

This was a historical romance set in Regency England that describes the Huxtable family. The first book in the series is about Vanessa (he-he Cosby show!) who is a young widow and offers herself in marrage to a viscount. It was really funny and really well-written.

I enjoyed this one pretty much the whole way through. I was kind of confused by the characterization of the hero, because at the beginning he seemed game for a laugh but then apparently he never smiled? IDK, it was a decent read.

Deep breath...Argh! I thought maybe, just maybe this one would be one to break the mold.

I read the prologue, and I honestly thought that Con was the hero...usually that's what a prologue is for to give you some background information on the story or the characters. But although Con is part of the story he doesn't have a major role. Of course, because he isn't the hero...it just took me awhile to get that info into my head. I wonder if I was the only one?

Back to the "real" hero: I did not like him! Nor did I like Vanessa! OMG I just wanted to throw the book out the window. Elliot was an ass with a capital A, and Vanessa's issue with not being a beauty really got on my nerves. What saved the book for me were the secondary characters. Sad isn't, it?

This novel was cute and enjoyable. It was a rather quick read and entertaining, but not exceptional. I do not mean to say that it was not good, it just was not a great work of literature. The plot is, however, interesting and it keeps you reading.

New author for me but I have ordered other books now. This was a great romance. Lots of humor too. Wallflower of her family, Vanessa Huxtable Dew "sacrifices" herself by offering herself to the Viscount in place of her sister. He needs a wife, of course Vanessa has been driving him crazy. Great read.
