Drumm Bulldogs
Yes, I liked this book because of the exotic animals and funny charcters. My favorite part of the book was when they meet Squirt. I would recommend this book to my peers because it is hilarious.

The book begins in Nick and Marta’s biology class. The feared biology teacher, Mrs. Starch, starts the class by questioning them about the Calvin cycle. Duane, who likes to be called Smoke, is called on, and then humiliated in front of the class, because he acts like a smart aleck. He bites the pencil Mrs. Starch is holding in front of his face in half, eats the half he bit in her face, and walks out of the classroom.
The next day is the field trip into Black Vine Swamp. During the field trip, a wildfire causes the students to go back to the buses. Mrs. Starch goes back into the swamp to get something, and tells the buses to leave without her. Days later, she hasn’t been found. Nick and Marta go to her house, and a man named Twilly finds them there. He tells them Mrs. Starch is alive, and her answering machine proves that.
From the time Duane ate the pencil, an illegal oil well was set up in a section of the Black Vine Swamp owned by Florida. In order to keep the students from the field trip away from the well, the Red Diamond Energy Corporation (R.D.E. Corporation) sets a controlled “wildfire”. Investigators come, and find out that the “wildfire” wasn’t a wildfire at all, but arson. The R.D.E. Corporation frames Duane, the main suspect for the arson.
Nick and Marta see Mrs. Starch’s blue Prius parked at a pizza store, and jump in the backseat. Twilly comes in, and they convince him to tell them about Mrs. Starch. He drives them to his camp in the Black Vine Swamp. Mrs. Starch is there! Apparently she has been taking care of a baby panther that was stranded by it’s mother. Nick and Marta decide to help Mrs. Starch, and Twilly find the mother panther. Then someone else comes by, Duane! Apparently, Duane is an amazing tracker, and is going to track down the mother panther.
The R.D.E. Corporation finds the mother panther first. They shoot at the panther to scare it away, because if anyone found out there was a panther there, someone was going to come with trained dogs, and would most likely find the illegal well. The shots from the oil company rebound on the trees, and one of the bullets hits Mrs. Starch! She tells Nick and Marta to reunite the mother with her baby, while Duaneposted 1 year ago.

If you had the choice to help an endanger Florida panther survive, would you help it? Would you still help it if saving the panther would be dangerous?

I would help it because I hate to see animals suffer. I would help it even if it were dangerous because an animal that is suffering is more likely to accept help than to attack it.
