Code Talker is a story by Joseph Bruchac. In this story Bruchac tells about how in World War II the allied codes kept getting intercepted by the Germans. The allies then had to come up with a new way to send codes to the British and the Russians by using the navajo language. Code Talker is a historical fiction story that takes place in the United States during WWII in the year 1942. The events in this book were true. When the Navajo solders were sent to the Pacific.

During WWII over 400 codes were sent out during the war. The charters in this book are not real but the actual events are real. I would recommend this book to kids who like history and historical events also kids that like action. Also, another reason why this book is recommend to people because this book is about true events and what happened during this time period.
