“It's the sequel of the first book of the Ranger's Apprentice series. It's never boring and keeps you on the edge.”Tenzin wrote this review Tuesday, September 24, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Very.. Awesome, so much mystery, and a lot of action. The title is a little obvious for that one.”Rachael Cheng ._. wrote this review Thursday, June 27, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Good simple read yet again. Villain is killed easily which came as a surprise (pleasant one as it was unexpected) Good way to steer the series towards a new direction.”Mighty Joe wrote this review Saturday, May 11, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“The Burning Bridge is a great sequel. I really enjoyed it! I can sum up this book in two words: THE ENDING. Oh my gods, that was such an emotional ending. It broke my heart into pieces! It was bad enough that Will and Halt were separated for the majority of the book (Will went on his first official mission!) but THIS IS MUCH WORST.
Will has grown since the last book; he is more confident and is fulfilling his role as a leader. This is only the second so I expect more character development as the series goes along especially with Will’s unfortunate fate. Horace has also grown up as well. I adore his friendship with Will. He was a bad-ass in this book though. I was in awed when he threw his gauntlet at Lord Morgarath to challenge him in combat. It was a stupid but brave action. I was hanging on the edge of my seat during the battle sequence. It was intense.
Halt! Oh you, grumpy old Ranger. His relationship with Will was so sweet. Being a surrogate father to Will? Made my heart melt. It also made the ending absolutely heart-breaking. His interactions with Alyss were fantastic! I hope we get more scenes with those two! It also gave us an insight to Alyss’s character. Several new characters were introduced in this book; my favourite has got to be Evanlyn. She was great! I can’t wait to see more of her in the next book! She’s tougher than she lets on.
I loved how Flanagan included scenes where Will and Horace were learning and practicing because they’re still apprentices and it would be unrealistic to just have them go on missions without having any training and such. Off to read the next book now!
