“I'm obviously in the minority but Cat and Bones's relationship is still not appealing to me. What little chemistry they had in the first two installments has fizzled out completely and now it seems like they are simply going through the motions. Moreover, it is difficult to summon up any emotional engagement with either Cat or Bones during the more angst ridden section of the book.
In contrast, the secondary characters have far more personality. Mencheres, Ian and Vlad are fleshed out well and Vlad, in particular, is very intriguing. Tate, on the other hand, needs to be sent packing as soon as possible as his character has turned into a whinny whelp. Denise and Spade get very little page time and this is surprising given that they have their own book - one expect their characters to be better developed by now.
The plot revolving around the machinations of a powerful and vengeful Egyptian vampire from Mencheres and Bones's past is solid and the incorporation of magic and zombies make for some exciting action scenes.
All in all, although Cat and Bones are not really my cup of tea, the Night Huntress world building is compelling, Frost's writing style flows and the storylines are engaging enough to continue with the series. ”

Cat aka the Red Reaper keeps being spotted, no matter what colour she dyes her hair or contact lenses she wears, the undead world keep seeing past her disguises. And one vampire in particular seems to want Cat and her undead lover Bones dead, and they are willing to employ dark magics to do it.
Another fantastic installment in the Night Huntress series, can Jeaniene Frost do no wrong? At Grave’s End is one of the highlights of this series, it has heart rending moments leaving you in a puddle of tears and some humourous parts that will keep you smiling.
As usual it is packed full of action and an interesting story line that lets you see in to past of some of the different characters, but what I am really interested in is the relationship between Cat and Bones. They are a passionate, volatile but head over heels in love couple and together they create enough romantic conflict to keep their relationship interesting.
Love this series, if you haven’t started it, I highly recommend you give it a go!

“Still loving this series! Found it interesting that Vlad from Night Prince showed up in this book. He seemed more like a character sketch for a non-essential secondary character. Glad he fleshed out so nicely for his own series.”Monika R wrote this review Saturday, July 6, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Cat is teamed with her vampire boyfriend, Bones, to bring down a vampire who wants to see Bones dead and will use any method she can to see it happen, including killing the woman he loves - Cat. ”foxtrtr wrote this review Sunday, June 23, 2013. “4.5, Absolutely adding Jeaniene Frost to the List of Authors Who Can't Write Fast Enough. Really enjoy the story of, and the relationship between Cat and Bones, this book didn't miss a beat, fast paced. Once picked up, could not put it down as I'm dying to know what will happen next. I enjoy the character development and the sass from Cat's mother makes me laugh out loud, every time she appears. Loved the mix of old and new characters and the new levels and areas the characters were taken to in this book, looking forward to reading the rest”Mercedes S wrote this review Friday, May 31, 2013.
