I picked this up , as a Swede who had on and off tried to do her family tree, and felt disconnected from her roots. I started and stopped as I didn't think it would be what I thought.
Recently I found another board online for swedish geneology, and thru the kindness of some from sweden, found my family !
This being said, I picked the book back up and ripped thru it. Yes, some may find it depressing, as frankly life was difficult. The names and places came as a surprise to me, as they commonly run thru my family tree now.
Being a care giver for my dad, I find, the similar dilemma's reoccur even today.
I only had bits and pieces of stories, now I have hard documents and a story that may explain some of the occurances that shaped my family's history.
Get past the first chapter, they story of a family will be well worth it.
