I read Nic Sheff's "Tweak," and then read David Sheff's "Beautiful Boy". I think you really need to read both to appreciate the depth of emotions generated by this horrible addiction. Hearing this story, feeling the helplessness felt by those who love the addict, and seeing the horror from the addict's viewpoint, knowing they are hurting those they love, and feeling unable to stop. I also saw them both on Oprah, and the honesty with which David and Nic told their stories was amazing.

I had a difficult time choosing between three and four stars. This is a good book but not a great book. It is, at times, a very sad and frightening book. This book did make me want to read and learn more about meth addiction and I recommend it as an introductory work for anyone else who wants to learn about meth addiction.
